When I opened my private practice, I opted to lease a small office in a building close to my home. I liked my office as it was mine and a place I could finally do what I had been working so hard to do…be a counselor! However, after being in this space for about 18 months, the smallness of the office felt like it was closing in on me and I knew it was time for me to move, and once I made this decision, all the pieces fell in place very quickly and a week later, I was in my beautiful new office, in my same office building, but on a floor higher. (I’m going to show my age here, but as I was moving to the second floor, the song “Movin’ On Up” from the old The Jeffersons tv show kept going through my head! lol)
I love my new office and I especially love the big windows and the light that comes in them. It’s a comfortable and peaceful place for me and my clients. In fact, this was my first week in my office and the smiles on my clients’ faces as they walked into my office not only reflected mine, but warmed my heart.
So here it is. My new office, filled with some of my favorite things. I sometimes feel like I’m in a treehouse with the big evergreen trees out my windows. God blessed me tremendously with this beautiful space to work in.
